Linking Matlab with SWMM5

Hi, I am currently trying to use Matlab to create a set of random values and inputting these random values into SWMM 5 to vary the different parameters (e.g. decay constant) so I will get a range of results. Has anyone done it before? Thanks!See More

SWMM 4 DWF File

Introduction

A version of the SWMM 4 DWF input data is read by SWMM 5 if the keyword

#K1_K3_FILE_DATE

is found in the Titles/Notes Category.  The file can be copied from the SWMM 4 input data file and placed in a separate file.

The name and location of the DWF data file is found by using the Data command:

Data-->Options-->Interface Files

and then selecting the ADD button and picking INFLOWS  from the pull down menu.  The program will use the iface.c routines in the SWMM 5 C code but read the DWF file using the SWMM 4 data file format.

K1-K3 File Format

*         Optional comment lines at the top of the file
K1      10
K2      'T-26A-00-M1'   'T-26A-10-M1'   'T-27-00-M1'    'T-27-02-M1'    'T-29-00-M1'    'T-29A-06'   'T-29A-10-M1'   'T-31-00-M1'    'T-32-00-M1'    'T-33Z-00-M1'
*
K3      0.00    0.50300 0.25700 0.40000 0.01800 0.03980 0.27000 4.33000 0.11800 0.01045 0.02800 *01SEP04:00:00:00
K3      0.25    0.48900 0.25600 0.38600 0.01800 0.03890 0.26500 4.28000 0.11500 0.01032 0.02780 *01SEP04:00:15:00

The SWMM 5 output text file will list the DWF File Summary as a verification of the DWF read during the simulation.  The next Table shows a snippet of one output file.
