Note: If you are running on your own code with a version lower than 3.2, which was released on May 19, 2008, this tool will not be available to you. Please proceed to the Advanced Pages Setup tutorial.

Introduction

Using Notes in your networks on Ning is a pretty powerful feature. It easily allows Network Creators to create and edit new network pages. You can add a "Frequently Asked Questions" page, a "Contact Us" section, a "Links" page, "About Us" information and more.

But as it stands right now, there may be some reasons why Pages - previously a "hidden feature" on your networks - might be a more viable option than using Notes:  you can create multiple tabs of pages, you can create comment threads on particular pages and you have a greater selection of HTML tags including iframes and JavaScript. As cool as this sounds, it really is a 'beta' feature. It's not tested as throughly as other features and it's hidden as a result. In other words, please proceed at your own risk.

There are two ways to setup and configure pages on your social network. You can use the new easy pages tool, which should be fine for almost everyone, or if you have very special needs or are running an older version of the code you can opt to try the advanced pages setup instructions.

Instructions

We've recently added a tool to make using pages on your social network easier than ever. Just follow these steps!
  1. Log into your network as the Network Creator
  2. Visit http://examplenetwork.ning.com/page/instance/edit where you replace examplenetwork with the subdomain of your social network.
  3. You should see a page that looks like this.
  4. You can use the "Add Another Page" link to add additional pages to your social network. The "Tab Title" can be set for any page and the Directory, which will appear in the link to the page, can be set for any page beyond the first one. Additionally. the tabs for any pages can be hidden by unchecking the "Display Tab" check box.
  5. If you'd like to remove your pages, you can click on the "Remove" link. To disable all of your pages simply delete all of your pages other than the first one, which cannot be deleted, and uncheck "Display Tab" to hide the final page.

That's it! Setting up pages is that quick using the Easy Pages tool. If you are signed in as a network creator and are unable to access this page, please send us a bug report.

Originally, when SWMM was developed the width parameter was the collection length of the subcatchment. For example, it would be the gutter length on a street going to an inlet. In your case one easy way to estimate the Width for the subcatchment goi…
